Kate Sumberg first began her career in co-ops at the Western Massachusetts Cooperative Warehouse as a bookkeeper, truck driver and warehouse worker in the 1970’s. She has served as the chief financial officer for several co-ops, as well as an interim general manager, and has worked in almost every department during her career.
She has consulted with and visited cooperatives all over the world, and is a graduate of Simmons Graduate School of Management. Kate currently works on CoCoFiSt (Common Cooperative Financial Statements), a project that compiles, analyzes and compares financial and operating data from co-ops around the country.
Kate is a recipient of the Honored Cooperator Award and was inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame in 2008.
